Specialized Programs

Right from the Start

RFTS is a Medicaid driven case management program for prenatal clients and infants through their first birthday.

Black Lung Care

Valley Health offers black lung specialty care to coal miners in West Virginia who may be at risk for the disease.

School-Based Health Services

Valley Health has health centers located in local high schools including Cabell-Midland, Spring Valley, Wayne High, Tolsia High and Huntington High.

Nutrition

Valley Health administrates WIC (women, infant and children) locations in six counties in WV (Boone, Cabell, Kanawha, Lincoln, Putnam and Wayne). Participants visit WIC twice a year for growth and nutrition assessment.

Weight Control

Nutrition and weight counseling is available via appointment with a nutritionist at most Valley Health sites.

Counseling

Valley Health has an agreement with Prestera Center for Mental Health Services to provide counseling services to our patients.

Ultrasound

Valley Health – A Woman’s Place houses ultrasound equipment for examination of pelvic complaints and prenatal care.

340B/Sharing the Care Prescription Programs

Discount prescriptions are available to Valley Health patients through our pharmacy as well as each site participating with indigent medication programs.

BCCSP

The breast and cervical cancer screening program offers testing for women including routine pap smears and mammograms if the patient qualifies for the program.
